Battery Innovation Center Inks Global Deal

bic indianaNEWBERRY - A global safety science organization is partnering with the Battery Innovation Center at the WestGate @ Crane Technology Park. The center will serve as Underwriters Laboratories' North American testing and validation center. The center says its advanced test capabilities and UL's engineering expertise makes this an 'ideal collaboration' that will boost battery and energy storage innovation. The lab will allow for testing and certification for most performance, reliability and safety standards for energy storage technology. It also has the capability for certain chemistry research. UL Vice President Lisa Salley says the organization's goal is to 'accelerate the adoption of innovative energy technology through client collaboration, independent safety review and product testing.'
