Via Greene County Daily World Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch traveled to WestGate@Crane Academy Technology Park to mark the progress of the newest Alion expansion under construction on the site Friday afternoon. The facility, which will be 40,000 square feet and cost $4.3 million, is expected to generate new technology jobs for the area upon its completion in December. “We are all pleased that you chose the WestGate Park for the expansion of your work,” Crouch said to Alion executives. “We look forward to being partners with you as you create more than 60 new jobs in the area over the coming years.” Crouch went on to discuss the importance of partnering with companies such as Alion to focus on diversifying the economy of the state. “We remain laser focused on ensuring Indiana’s economy is diverse, supporting industries such as Indiana’s tech industry, which is the fifth fastest growing tech industry in the nation,” she said. Congressman Larry Bucshon offered his congratulations on the expansion in a press release. “As a long-time supporter of both the WestGate tech park and NSWC Crane, I offer congratulations and appreciation to Alion Science and Technology for their current expansion,” he said. “The WestGate serves a critical role for Indiana’s defense industry and for the region.” Commanding Officer of NSWC Crane Capt. J.T. Elder also offered his congratulations and appreciation to Alion. “Our NSWC Crane team is most appreciative of the companies and technology experts who help us serve all branches of the U.S. military and the U.S. Homeland Security Department,” he said. “We congratulate the executives of Alion Science and Technology for their expansion in the region.” Alion’s expansion will add to the more than 460 technology and other professionals who work in the park.
