Greene County General Hospital Organizes Wellness Wednesday

June 26, 2016

Staying healthy and keeping your body in shape is important, but acquiring preventative care can be expensive.  Members of the Greene County General Hospital (GCGH) are here at WestGate Academy each month offering their Wellness Wednesday program to anyone in the community interested in living a healthy lifestyle, free of charge. Amy Lore, GCGH Public Relations, Marketing, and Business Development Manager, exDSC_0079plained, “Our biggest focus is wellness and providing free preventative care to people in the community, targeting businesses local to come during their lunch hour to come enjoy a complimentary lunch and learn ways to benefit their health.' This month, physical therapists from GCGH came to share physical therapy and workplace exercises.  They provided examples of exercises to improve your flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular health all while sitting in a chair, which is perfect for people sitting behind a desk all day.  They also demonstrated ways to stretch if you are having neck problems from sitting too long or how to relieve pain if your eyes start to strain from staring at a computer screen. If you missed out on this month, you won't want to miss out on the next!  Mark your calendars for July 13 and come learn a little more about home health care and when a loved one may need professional care.
