DSC_0838The Southern Indiana Grazing Conference a success at WestGate Academy for the second year in a row.  March 2, 2016 - Agricultural influencers from across the country attended the 7th annual Southern Indiana Grazing Conference early March at WestGate Academy in WestGate@Crane Technology Park.  The Southern Indiana Grazing Conference is an event that helps producers improve their grazing operations through with education on the agricultural issues people face in the Midwest. Daviess County Soil & Water Conservation District promotes proper grazing management for small and large farms in Southern Indiana, and established the Southern Indiana Grazing Conference to fill a growing need to educate the public. This year, there were more than 280 attendees from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, Ohio, West Virginia, and New York to listen to nationally known speakers in grazing and livestock industries. One of this year's speakers was editor Allan Nation of The Stockman Grass Farmer. The Southern Indiana Grazing Conference is scheduled to occur March 8, 2017, at WestGate Academy with the potential speakers Teddy Gentry, 'Alabama' Cattleman, Joshua Dukart, Holistic Grazing & Darin Williams, Extending the Grazing Season.
