Uplands Science & Technology Foundation Names Matt Kavgian Director of Operations and Communications

Odon, Ind. – The Uplands Science & Technology Foundation (USTF) is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Kavgian as Director of Operations and Communications. In this pivotal role, he will lead the organization’s operational efficiency, communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination efforts furthering USTF’s mission to grow the WestGate@Crane Technology Park into a vibrant hub of innovation and regional prosperity.
In this role, Kavgian will expand USTF’s organizational capacity as activity at WestGate@Crane continues to accelerate, supporting leadership, partners, and stakeholders while leading communications and engagement efforts that highlight the scope and impact of work underway across the technology park.
Since its establishment in 2021, USTF has worked tirelessly to attract top tech talent and foster an environment conducive to emerging technologies such as microelectronics, artificial intelligence, and hypersonics. With Matt’s extensive background in strategy, operational management, and communications, USTF is poised for continued growth and success.

No stranger to the WestGate@Crane Technology Park, Matt served from 2012 to 2016 with valued park tenant JRC Integrated Systems in support of NSWC Crane’s Command Advocacy Team and Strategic Systems Program. During this time, he gained invaluable insights into the operational dynamics and collaborative opportunities within the technology park, fostering relationships with key stakeholders and enhancing project management skills. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Indiana Economic Development Association and Director of Strategic Communications at the Indiana University Foundation.
