WBIW: More Than 300 Children Receive Introduction To STEM Education At Inaugural Crane Community Christmas

Via WBIW (WESTGATE) - Crane Community partners have invited the local Head Start groups, along with a few of the area daycares, to join them for a Christmas-themed day of STEM activities. More than 300 children ages 3-5 are scheduled to be there today from Martin, Daviess, and Greene Counties, along with more than 100 adult teachers, chaperones, and volunteers will visit from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The purpose of Crane Community Christmas is to introduce an underrepresented group of children to STEM education at a very young age while giving them a day filled with holiday fun, a great meal, some special visitors from the North Pole, and a gift to take home. The event is sponsored by STIMULUS Engineering, Battery Innovation Center, FLIR Systems, Washington Knights of Columbus, Silly Safaris, 327 Solutions, Precise Systems, WestGate Authority, Crane Credit Union, PACE CAA, Daviess County Hospital, St Vincent de Paul, JRC, Martin County CSC, Blacks in Government, TSC, and TriStar Engineering
