White Belt Training Held to Public for Free at WestGate

March 21, 2016 - 30 people from the surrounding communities took part in a free opportunity to better themselves in an all day training event at WestGate Academy. Ivy Tech Community College offered a White Belt Training Course and certification to help people gain valuable skills and continuous improvement. The skills learned can be used in a business setting, healthcare, manufacturing, and many other industries. The Ivy Tech Community College White Belt Certification course allows people to improve their daily processes. It provides continual improvement necessary in various types of organizations. The course teaches tools of quality assurance, problem-solving, understanding customer relations, project teamwork, and eliminating waste that today's workforce needs. Those that took part in the course believed it was beneficial and applicable to their work. 'The White Belt Training offered by Ivy Tec Community College at WestGate Academy brought a new perspective to the staff and I on developing processes that are instrumental in today's workplace,' said City of Loogootee Mayor Noel D. Harty. 'I thought the class went very well.  Mike did a good job of keeping everyone’s attention and people seemed genuinely engaged.  I appreciated taking the class and gathered quite a bit of information that I can utilize on an everyday basis,' said WestGate@Crane Technology Park Executive Assistant Samantha Nelson.
